We all want to look our best…and we don’t have a lot of time to spend. So here are some tips to serve as a basic guide to help retain a younger look by focusing on the areas that display the most obvious signs of aging. These include lips, eyes, and cheekbones.
Lips
Line the outer rim of your lip with a matching colored lip pencil after applying high gloss lip color. This sequence has a strong effect of highlighting your features in a subtle manner. Moreover, a classic colored lip liner lasts longer than the standard lip gloss. It enables you to avoid running gloss on your lips and creating unwanted lines.
Eyelashes
A comb brush works wonders on your eyelashes. Long, clean and refined eyelashes come from the comb brush while other types achieve mixed results. The application of mascara is done properly using the technique of brushing from root to tip. It has to be done with a steady hand so that you can avoid thickness as opposed to length.
Cheekbones
The first step is applying foundation so that you can get an even finish spread all over your face. Without this step, makeup will lead to the appearance of harsh lines. Use highlight in the region surrounding the eyes. This needs to be done with a sharply angled brush to get the desired effect. Start from the upper part of the eye socket spreading outwards towards the hairline. Then apply white powder with the big feathery brush. The contrast of lightness and darkness results in more highlight and depth.
For an additional appeal, in the crease of your eye socket, you can use another feathery eye brush to wipe forwards and backward. This will have the effect of making the eye socket look deeper. When applying, keep your eyelids lifted and face the mirror. The lash line has a natural red color so use a pink-beige shade along with it. This color further enhances the deepness of your eye sockets.
A few more tips
Using a smooth primer with visual diffusers is more effective than applying foundation on the forehead because it drops and reveals aging.
When using a foundation, it should be of light texture so that it can be applied evenly to the facial skin. Anything thicker will create the impression of differently shaded spots.
Applying one of two coats of mascara forms the starting point of make-up application. This approach is light but efficient and does not require any add-ons on your eyes or lips. You will look stunning just the way you are.
The secret to makeup application is minimal use of cosmetics. This enhances your appearance without looking like you are masking your natural features.
