How did the Eyes Evolve?

The eyes are amongst the most complex organs in the body. The question as to how the eyes evolved has always confounded people. Darwin’s theory does not completely explain the evolution of the eye through the process of natural selection and mutation. Darwin has also upheld this fact and conceded that his theory could not firmly establish the evolution of the eye. Although scientists have theorized that the eye developed from pigmented areas on the skin, this does not explain the sheer complexity of this organ. Astoundingly the staff at Houston Lasik understand much about the anatomy of the eye. Most of the all they know how to correct vision with laser eye surgery in Houston.
Given this confusion it is easy to believe that the eyes were the work of intelligent design. But if that were true, it is hard to explain why blood vessels are sprawled across the surface of the eye. This type of organ design is susceptible to numerous mishaps – one of them being rupture of a vessel. So now that the human eye is not a perfect design, how did eyes evolve?
Explanations
Darwin’s theory was compact to a large extent – except for the fact that it could not explain the complexity and perfection of this organ called the eye. He and several scientists colluded that the eyes might have evolved from a photosensitive cell which aggregated into a pigment. The photosensitive pigment helped creatures avoid predators and hence its usage began increasing. Given this increased blood flow and activity in this region, optic nerves could have evolved. Translucent skin could have evolved to cover the pigmented site that was slowly developing within a depressed region.
As the depression got deeper, the skin over this depressed area evolved into a lens-type shape which eventually became the lens. Muscles to support the movement and positioning of the lens might have developed gradually. These stages to explain the development of the eyes are currently the ones that are theoretically accepted.
So when did the eyes start evolving?
Scientists are of the contention that the first proto-eye came into existence more than 500 million years ago. From then, for about a million years, the eyes developed into various types and subtypes depending on the type of usage. Prey animals had better vision, especially prey birds that could see ultraviolet light. Human eyes do not have as much visual sharpness as several animals or birds because humans were never fierce predators.
How to take care of this beautiful and complex organ?
Regular visits to a Houston LASIK eye clinic are all that is required. Currently, there are proven solutions to treat patients with eye conditions such as cataract, presbyopia and myopia. LASIK laser eye surgery is one of the foremost treatment options. It is recommended that those suffering from eye conditions get a medical and eye examination done at a reputed Houston eye clinic or hospital. The eyes are a gift of nature to humanity and to all creatures on the planet. Humans have better control on how they can manage their eyesight and eye-health. In this new millennium, a simple thing such as a visit to an eye clinic is all that is required.
